Call for Volunteer Reviewers

Thank you for your interest in being a reviewer for Computers and Writing 2026! We are now seeking reviewers for this year’s conference themed on sustainability. We are excited about this year’s conference, and we hope that you are as well. Though, no matter how exciting, we know that the work to review conference proposals is sometimes a large time commitment, and we appreciate the dedication to the craft and the field. We hope to see you in person at this year’s C&W conference in Charlotte on June 4 through June 7, 2026. 

Reviewing at a glance

• Each reviewer will be responsible for reviewing 5-10 proposals (dependent upon number of submissions and number of volunteer reviewers).

• Reviewers should plan to spend 10-15 minutes per proposal.

• Reviewers should be prepared to assess proposals based on the following criteria: 

  • Relevance - Does the proposal connect to the conference theme and/or the current theory and practice of sustainability? 

  • Contribution - Does the proposal develop original contributions to the field of Computers and Writing? 

  • Focus - Does the proposal provide detail about the presentation plan and approach to presentation? 

  • Engagement - Does the proposal describe interaction with the audience and/or describe activities participants will engage in? 

• Reviewers should plan to provide a brief commentary on each proposal as well as a recommendation to include or reject the proposal.

Important Dates 

• The proposal submission deadline for C&W 2026 is December 4, 2025.

• The review process will begin within a week after the submission date. Reviewers will have approximately one month to review proposals.
